Before our site crash, we’d written a post about a sleeper pair of TAB compressor/limiters that we had just acquired. They showed up a few days ago and these have turned out to be very interesting modules. They exemplify early compressor design quite well. One of the modules (the earlier serial number of the two) looks almost like a prototype on the inside. You can tell that that module was, for the most part, hand built and was a relatively early revision of the U373a. The layout is not as neat as the one with the higher serial number. We’ll dive into that one in one of our next posts. So many transformers!!
